FAQ – Accepting assist

Drivers are not allowed to give out personal contact information, but can recommend repair shops/towing companies. Driver recommendations are not company recommendations and shouldn’t be perceived as such.

While some drivers may be mechanics or have experience working on vehicles, it is not a requirement and we don’t represent any of our drivers as mechanics. Drivers are simply independent contractors who have completed training with us and are certified they can perform the tasks related to being an auXcar assist.

Background checks are run on all drivers, however we do not conduct driving record checks.

As an assist driver you must be able to perform basic roadside tasks to assist customers with their issues. You also must be able to lift up to 50lbs and pass a background check.

While a customer may have cash, we kindly ask that all customers tip drivers within the app. Tips are not required but highly recommended.

All tips belong 100% to assist drivers. It is up to a customer how much they decide to tip. Drivers who are friendly, fast, and do a good job usually receive the highest tips.

While there is no guarantee how much you will get paid, we aim to pay you much more than you would make working for a rideshare service, working similar hours. Our pay to drivers is highly competitive, as we want to keep the best assist drivers on the road.

No. Drivers are not allowed to transport customers anywhere while using the platform.

Drivers are not allowed to perform outside services that are not listed on the app. This can result in permanent removal from the platform.

auXcar has a no tolerance policy: we do not permit a driver or customer to assault the other in any way including but not limited to physical, verbal or sexual. Such acts will cause an immediate & permanent removal from the platform. Please notify your local authorities immediately if you have been assaulted and contact us within the platform.

All drivers are asked to perform services as safely & timely as possible. While service times may vary, we aim to have our customers back on the road as fast as possible. Drivers who complete services more quickly than average are rewarded with perks within our app.

We ask that customers allow auXcar drivers to perform all roadside tasks, however customers can assist drivers if they desire. You can kindly remind customers that you will take care of things, but don’t refuse if they insist on helping with their vehicle.

When a driver arrives to assist, kindly remind the customer to stand at a safe distance to limit any risk of injury. Remember our goal is to assist the customer.

is located on a major roadway/highway with traffic passing at high speed, this is considered a high risk assist & customers will pay an extra fee for service. Drivers can turn on this feature within their app if they would like to accept high risk assists. Please take necessary precautions and only perform the assist if you feel it is safe enough to do so. If you determine it was not safe, you should recommend the customer to call local authorities to help block traffic. You can then assist the customer once the authorities arrive.
